
Biodet Services directors are Adrienne Burnie, Elaine Khor and Kate Fletcher.

Founding Director: Dr Elizabeth Ebbett - B.Sc Hon, D.Phil (Oxon). Elizabeth started Biodet in 1975 and spent decades building a successful niche microbiological business. In June 2017 Elizabeth passed away and is fondly remembered by her team. We particularly love the above photograph of Liz taken in her university days.

Adrienne Burnie (BSc Microbiology and NZCM Technology Part II, III) has over 25 years' experience in the field of industrial microbiology. She also has experience as a medical technologist. Adrienne’s particular area of expertise is in food, water and environmental microbiology, in particular microbial air quality issues.

Kate Fletcher (BSc) is a graduate of Auckland University and holds a degree in Physiology and Genetics. She has over 15 years' experience in microbiology and is one of Biodet's Senior Consultants.
Elaine Khor (MSc) is a graduate of Auckland University and holds a degree in Biomedical Science. She has been with Biodet since 2008 and is our Laboratory Manager.

Neethu Arun (MSc) is a graduate of Auckland University and holds a Master of Science degree. She joined Biodet in 2017 and is working as a microbiology consultant.

Lam Chow (BSc) is a graduate of Auckland University of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined Biodet in 2017 and is working as a microbiology consultant.

Pallavi Tarpara (BSc) is a graduate of Sardar Patel University in India and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology. She joined Biodet in 2018 and is working as a microbiology consultant.

Piushani Morapaya (PGDipBiomedSci) is a graduate of Auckland University and holds a Postgraduate diploma degree in Biomedical Sciences. She is working as a microbiology analyst.​

Nicholas Buckley (BSc) is a graduate of Auckland University of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined Biodet in 2021 and is working as a microbiology technician.

​Kenny Chin (BSc) is a graduate of University of Auckland and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined Biodet in 2021 and is working as a microbiology technician.

Henry Chang (BSc) is a graduate of Auckland University of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined Biodet in 2023 and is working as a microbiology technician.
Janesha Perera (BSc (Hons)) is a graduate of the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka and holds a Bachelor of Science degree majoring in Botany and Microbiology. She has 18 years of experience working within the cosmetics industry in Sri Lanka and 13 years of experience working as a senior research technician in the University of Auckland. She joined Biodet in 2024 and is working as a pharmaceutical/cosmetics microbiology consultancy.
Joyee Kaw (BSc) is a graduate of Auckland University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined Biodet in 2024 and is working as a microbiology technician.
