Bacteria, yeast and fungi in cosmetic or pharmaceutical products have the potential to cause health issues as well as causing spoilage of the product.

Biodet provides a number of microbiological analyses on a wide range of cosmetic and pharmaceutical products including raw ingredients and finished products. This can include routine testing of products as well as investigations into products that have spoilage issues.

​

 

Analyses we regularly perform include general bacterial counts, Yeast, Mould, Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas, Coliforms, Escherichia Coli and Salmonella.

​

 

Biodet also carries out preservative efficacy testing using either British Pharmacopoeia (BP) or BS EN ISO 11930:2012 (E) standards - With both of these methods under our IANZ scope of accreditation.

 

As a microbiological consulting laboratory, we are not limited to these standards and are willing to explore new methods, therefore we welcome any enquiries regarding other testing methodologies.
